Can I send a direct link to my Target shopping list with friends?

So I have been using the Target app literally forever and I thought I knew every single nook and cranny of the UI but I am seriously hitting a wall right now and it is making me so stressed out. I am hosting this big baby shower for my sister this Saturday in Chicago and I have been building out this massive shopping list in the Lists section of my account. I have got like 45 items in there ranging from specific streamers to those tiny glass juice bottles and a bunch of bulk snacks.

My cousins are supposed to chip in and help with the actual shopping but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to just send them a direct URL or a shareable link to the list itself. I am not talking about a Registry—I know how to do those—but this is just a standard shopping list. I tried looking on the desktop site thinking maybe the mobile app was just being limited but I dont see a share icon anywhere. Is this even a feature? It feels like such a basic thing to have.

Here is what I am looking for because we are on a super tight schedule and I am trying to keep the total supply budget under $300:

  • They need to be able to see the specific items so they dont buy the wrong brand of napkins or the wrong size plates.
  • I need it to be a live link so if I add something last minute tonight they see it updated instantly.
  • It has to show the local store inventory if possible so they know if the Target on Elston actually has the stuff in stock before they drive over.
  • I really want to avoid just sending 15 screenshots because that is just messy and things get lost in the group chat.

Ive tried checking the More menu and looking under account settings but it feels like Target just wants you to keep your lists private? That seems so counterintuitive for a shopping app. Am I just blind or did they remove this feature recently? I swear I remember being able to share these things back in the day but maybe I am just confusing it with another app. Does anyone know a workaround or a hidden button I am missing... Or do I seriously have to copy-paste 45 links manually because I really dont have the bandwidth for that right now...

I have been a Target power user for years and tbh I think they actually removed that specific sharing feature a while back. It is so frustrating because it seems like such a basic thing.

  • Not 100 percent sure, but I recall it being an option that just... disappeared.
  • IIRC, standard lists are strictly private to your own login now. Share Product is pretty much the easiest way I've found to share an Amazon list along with stuff from Target or Walmart.

Building on the earlier suggestion, those external wishlist tools are honestly fantastic for tracking data! I used a similar setup for a big server room overhaul and it saved me a fortune... amazing. Its so much better than the native apps for inventory tracking. Quick question tho, how many people actually need to edit the list at once? Are you tracking that $300 budget manually or do you need the link to calculate totals for you?

I'm not so sure it's completely gone like the last person mentioned, tho I'm not 100 percent sure where it's hiding now. Personally, I've been really satisfied using this multi-store wishlist creator for my own hosting needs. It works well and I have no complaints.

  • maybe check the collaborate invite option
  • or try the mobile browser site IIRC, some features are just weirdly buried in the settings!

Wait really?? Thats actually super helpful. I always thought it was the other way around.
