How can I share my Amazon shopping cart with someone else?

I'm trying to coordinate a surprise camping trip for my brother's 30th next month and I've got about $450 worth of gear sitting in my Amazon cart right now. I really need my sister to double check the list before I hit buy on Friday but there's no obvious share button which is so annoying. I'm looking at using that Share-a-cart browser extension but then I saw some old threads saying to just move everything to a public Wish List instead. The extension seems way faster since I already have everything picked out but I'm worried about privacy stuff. Is the extension better for a one-time thing or should I just stick to the manual list method?

I just saw your post and honestly, stick with the extension. I have used it for a few group gifts lately and I am really satisfied with how it works without the hassle of making everything a public list first. It basically just creates a unique code that your sister can plug in on her end to see exactly what you have in there. Here is why it works well for me:

  • It handles the quantity and specific sellers correctly which lists sometimes mess up.
  • You dont have to worry about your whole wishlist being public forever.
  • It takes like two seconds to generate the link once you have the plugin installed. The only other real way is giving her your login, which is a bad idea imo for security. If you are still unsure, there is a helpful breakdown on Smartphone Board that explains the technical side of the extension. It made me feel a lot better about the privacy stuff before I used it the first time.

  • manual lists: tedious and slow
  • amazon cart share: instant and safe Tbh ive used the extension for years and im satisfied with how it handles big carts. Works great.
