I’m planning to pick up a Sony a7 IV during Cyber Monday and I’m trying to figure out what actually counts as a good deal. I’m mainly looking at body-only vs kit options, and I’d love a package that includes at least one fast prime or extra battery. Have you seen any legit Cyber Monday discounts or bundle offers on the a7 IV (US or online retailers), and what prices or bundles would you consider worth jumping on?

Hey, long-time Sony shooter here (been through a7 II → a7 III → a7 IV). I’ve been tracking a7 IV pricing the last couple Cyber Mondays and, unfortunately, the deals are usually not as crazy as people hope.

Here’s what I’d personally jump on:

**1. Body-only price target**
If you see **$2200 or less for body-only *with* an official Sony battery and maybe a small accessory (card, bag)**, that’s solid. Anything under **$2100** is a buy-now IMO. Last year I waited for lower and… nothing better came. Regretted that.

**2. Avoid most “kit” bundles**
The 28–70 kit is fine but not amazing. I’ve had issues with soft corners and it’s not fast. If the kit is more than **$200 over the body-only** and doesn’t add real value (like a good prime or genuine NP-FZ100), I’d skip.

**3. Best bundle structure to watch for**
What I’d consider *actually* worth it:
- a7 IV body
- **Sony 50mm f/1.8 *or* Samyang 35mm f/1.8**
- **Extra NP-FZ100 battery** (real Sony, not a random knockoff)
for roughly **$2400–2500**. That’s where you’re genuinely saving vs buying separate.

**4. Where I’ve had better luck**
In the US, I’ve had the most legit bundles from **B&H and Adorama**. Amazon "Cyber Monday" lens + accessory bundles often look good but I’ve had issues with junk-grade tripods, terrible bags, and third-party batteries that don’t report reliably in-camera.

If you don’t see at least **$150–200 of real value** (discount or useful gear you’d actually buy anyway), I’d honestly just grab the normal body-only from an authorized dealer and pick your own prime.

Hope this helps! Keep an eye on B&H’s “holiday bundle” pages, that’s usually where the sneaky good ones pop up.

Hey, nice choice going for the a7 IV – it’s a fantastic body.

From a more nerdy/technical angle, I’d say a “good” Cyber Monday deal is less about a giant discount on the body and more about **high‑value accessories** that you’ll absolutely need anyway.

Typical US pricing:
- a7 IV body: ~$2,498
- a7 IV + 28–70mm kit: usually +$200–$300, but the lens is kinda meh optically vs newer glass

If you see:
- **Body at $2,298 or less** *plus* a legit bundle (Sony NP‑FZ100 extra battery, fast UHS-II card 128GB, and decent bag/tripod) – that’s worth jumping on.
- A bundle that swaps the slow kit zoom for a fast prime like **Sony 35mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.8, or Sigma 28–70 f/2.8** at ~**$2,800–$3,000 total** – that’s actually way better value long term.

Watch out for:
- Fake “$300 off” where the body is normal price and they throw in a junk tripod and no‑name SD card.
- Third‑party batteries that mess with the a7 IV’s power reporting.

Personally, I’d skip the Sony 28–70 kit and hunt for a body‑only + fast prime combo. That’s where the a7 IV’s AF and sensor really shine.

Hope this helps! If you spot a specific bundle, post it and people can sanity‑check it.

If you’re watching your budget, I’d treat ~$2200 body-only with *real* extras as a good floor: think official Sony extra battery + fast prime or legit store credit you’ll actually use (Adorama/B&H gift card) – not just cheap straps/filters. Kit zooms are fine but kinda “meh” long term, so IMO better value is body-only + a discounted Sigma/Tamron 1.4 prime from a separate deal. Also, check used or open-box from reputable shops (KEH, MPB, B&H) right after Cyber Monday – returns often show up a bit cheaper and still with warranty. If the discount is under ~$150 and only padded with random accessories, I’d personally wait; decent deals usually land closer to $300+ in value once you add up the extras.

Hey, one more angle you might want to consider: build your own “Cyber Monday kit” instead of hunting for the perfect pre-made bundle.

What I usually do with bodies like the a7 IV:

1. **Prioritize the lowest body-only price from an authorized dealer.** Don’t stress if the bundle isn’t ideal. If you see ~$2200–2300 new from B&H/Adorama/Best Buy/Amazon (sold by Amazon), that’s already solid.

2. **DIY the accessories:**
- Extra battery: skip overpriced “bundle” ones. Grab a genuine NP-FZ100 on sale separately.
- Fast prime: watch for discounts on the Sony 35mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.8, or Sigma/Tamron primes. They often have their *own* rebates that beat the official Sony kits.

3. **Avoid “value-add” junk:** Filters, random grips, off-brand batteries in kits are usually trash. You’re paying for stuff you’ll replace anyway.

So IMO, a good Cyber Monday move is: cheapest legit body-only you can find + cherry-picked lens + real Sony battery. More work, but you usually end up with a better setup for the same money.

Hope this helps!

Hey, late to this but I’ve been daily-driving an a7 IV for a bit over a year now, and Cyber Monday was exactly when I bought mine.

Story first: I grabbed the body-only at basically “no discount” but with an official extra battery and a decent SD card tossed in. I remember staring at a kit with the 28-70 and thinking, “cool, it’s ‘cheaper’,” but long‑term that lens sat on my shelf when I borrowed a friend’s. I moved to fast primes almost immediately.

So from a long‑term ownership view, here’s what I’d *actually* jump on:
- Body at or below ~$2300 **with**: genuine NP‑FZ100 + fast prime (even a budget 35/1.8 or 50/1.8) or meaningful store credit.
- Or body + high‑quality third‑party prime (Sigma/Tamron) instead of the slow kit zoom. You’ll appreciate that in low light and for AF performance.

Stuff that looked good up front but didn’t matter over time: cheap bags, random filters, junk tripods. Stuff that mattered a ton: extra battery, good card, and at least one fast lens.

Lesson learned: prioritize bundles that set you up for the **first year of real use**, not the biggest sticker discount. If the deal helps you shoot more and charge less, it’s worth jumping on.

Hope this helps!

Hey,

One angle you *might* want to consider that no one’s really touched yet: where you live and how/where you actually shoot can change what’s a “good” a7 IV Cyber Monday deal.

If you’re in a cold/wet place (PNW, Northeast, Midwest winters, etc.), I’d prioritize:
- **Weather‑sealed lens in the bundle** over a random fast prime
- **Extra official battery** (cold kills batteries fast)
- A deal that includes a **real bag and decent strap** – not sexy, but it protects your $$$ gear in rain/snow.

On the other hand, hot/humid climates (South, Florida, tropics):
- I’d be careful with bundles that throw in **no-name batteries or chargers** – they heat up more and long-term it’s not worth saving $40.
- Look for deals that include **good SD cards** (V60/V90, name brand). Overheating + cheap cards = corrupted files… ask me how I know.

So, IMO, a “worth jumping on” deal is something like: ~$2300–2400 body-only **plus** weather-sealed zoom or prime, Sony battery, and name-brand card, especially if it fits your local climate needs.

Hope this helps! Where are you based? That might change what I’d call a smart bundle vs just marketing fluff.

If you care about safety first, I’d only jump on a Cyber Monday a7 IV deal from authorized US dealers (B&H, Adorama, Amazon *sold by Amazon*, Best Buy) at ~$2300–2400 for a bundle with **genuine** Sony battery and clearly labeled US warranty; avoid sketchy “too good” prices, grey-market imports, off-brand chargers, or eBay/third‑party marketplace sellers for your main body, because one bad charger or fake battery can seriously shorten the life of a $2k+ camera and kill any savings fast.

Hey, one angle I don’t see mentioned yet: look at a7 IV Cyber Monday pricing in context of competing systems, not just “is this a discount.”

Right now, US deals on:
- **Canon R6 / R6 II** often dip into a similar bracket with legit rebates + lens bundles.
- **Nikon Z6 II / Z7** kits sometimes undercut Sony when you factor in discounted S-line glass.
- **L-mount (Panasonic S5 II)** frequently has aggressive body+fast-prime promos.

So if the a7 IV body is hovering around ~$2300–2400 with only basic freebies, but you can get, say, an R6 II or S5 II kit with a fast prime and real rebate for similar money, the “deal” on the Sony isn’t actually that strong in market terms.

In my opinion, a *genuinely* good a7 IV Cyber Monday offer (vs the rest of the market) is either:
- Clearly below competing full-frame hybrids **after** you price in a fast prime and extra battery, or
- Matched in price but with a better long-term lens ecosystem value for your use case.

If you’re not locked into Sony already, I’d definitely compare:
- Final out-the-door price of: body + 1 fast 35/50mm + extra battery across Sony/Canon/Nikon/Panasonic.
- Then see if the Sony “deal” still looks compelling.

If you *are* invested in E-mount, I’d still benchmark against those other promos just so you don’t overpay for a mediocre bundle that’s only “good” because of the Sony name.

Hope this helps you sanity-check whatever Cyber Monday offer pops up!

Hey, from a pure performance/“driving experience” angle, I’d actually use Cyber Monday to optimize *how* the a7 IV performs rather than chasing the lowest sticker price.

Background: The a7 IV is already amazing out of the box, but its AF and buffer really shine when you pair it with the right glass and power. A slow kit zoom and one battery turns that sports/wildlife/fast-action beast into a bit of a sedan.

Why it matters: For tracking, burst shooting, and low light, you’ll feel the difference way more from:
- a fast focusing prime (Sony 35 1.8, 55 1.8, 85 1.8, or even Sigma/Tamron equivalents)
- extra *official* battery (or two) so the camera can run hard without you babying power
- a fast SD/CFexpress card so the buffer clears quickly

Solution / what I’d actually jump on:
- Body-only around $2300 *with* a fast prime and extra official battery = legit performance bundle, even if the discount isn’t crazy on paper.
- Kits with the 28–70 or 28–60 but no prime: I’d personally pass unless you’re saving enough to immediately add a 1.8 prime and fast card.

If you don’t see those kinds of performance-focused bundles, I’d honestly wait or buy body-only and hunt separate lens/card deals. You’ll get way more “speed” for your money that way.

Hope this helps!
