Honestly, before jumping in, what focal lengths are you actually hunting for? Are we talking about fast primes or a versatile zoom? One thing people often overlook is checking if they're bundling the 'Care Pak Plus' during the sale—it’s basically free insurance against accidental damage which adds a ton of actual value. Canon's good, but check Sony too. Their Black Friday deals last year averaged 15% off some prime lenses. Could stretch that $500 further.
