Hey everyone,
So, I'm seriously considering finally upgrading my camera body this year, and the Canon R6 Mark II is currently at the top of my list. I've been saving up, and I'm hoping to pull the trigger around Black Friday 2025. I know it's still a ways off, but I'm trying to be strategic and get the best possible deal.
I've been watching the prices of the R6 Mark II for the past few months, and while they've fluctuated a bit, I haven't seen any major drops yet. Given that it'll be nearly two years on the market by Black Friday 2025, I'm wondering if we can expect to see a more significant price reduction then.
Should I expect a $100 drop, $200, or even more? Thanks in advance!

Been thinking about this for a bit and honestly, waiting for those big Black Friday cuts can be pretty disappointing. I tried waiting out a similar drop on a body a few years back and it wasnt as good as I expected... the discount was barely there and the unit I eventually got had some weird sensor issues right out of the box. Dealing with service centers during the holiday rush is a nightmare, unfortunately. I also worry about compatibility since Canon has been so picky with third-party stuff lately. Before you pull the trigger in 2025, I have a couple questions:
- Are you planning to use an adapter for older EF glass, or are you buying all new RF lenses?
- Does your current setup actually need the Mark II features, or are you just hoping the price drop makes it worth it? Just be careful with those holiday batches, sometimes the quality control feels a bit rushed compared to the regular stock.
