I’m planning to upgrade to the Canon R6 Mark II this Cyber Monday 2025 and wondering what kind of deals people are seeing. Are there notable discounts on the body only vs. kit, or bundles with RF lenses, batteries, and memory cards? Also curious if major retailers or local camera shops are offering better extended warranties or trade-in bonuses. Would appreciate any tips, links, or past experience with Canon holiday pricing!

@Reply #2 - good point! Those big shops are usually the safest bet for the body, but you might want to consider being really careful with those huge bundle deals that pop up on Cyber Monday. I learned my lesson the hard way a couple years ago... I bought a bundle that came with a bunch of free filters and a generic bag, and honestly, the filters were so low-quality they actually made my photos look blurry. I would suggest just grabbing the Canon EOS R6 Mark II Body and then picking up reliable parts separately so you dont risk your new gear. Reliability is everything, especially when you are just starting out and dont want to worry about gear failure.

  • Make sure to get an extra Canon LP-E6NH Lithium-Ion Battery. Third-party ones are tempting but they often dont support the high-speed burst modes properly on the R6 II.
  • Dont skimp on the card. I use the Sony TOUGH-G series SDXC UHS-II 128GB because the camera puts out a ton of data and slow cards will just lock up your buffer while you are trying to shoot. Ngl, it is way better to have two high-quality items you can trust than a box of twenty things you will end up throwing away. If you find a deal at a place like Best Buy or a local shop that includes a trade-in bonus, that is usually a better path than the generic kits!
