Hello, you can use Amazon price drop alert service such as WHENPRICEDROP. They will alert you when price dropped.

Just catching up on this thread and @Reply #8 - good point! Honestly, people always forget the extra bits that add up. In my experience, even if you find a killer deal on the body, you gotta check what batteries you have. Over the years I've tried many different setups and the Canon EOS R6 Mark II really needs that Canon LP-E6NH Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery to hit its max burst rates. If you use the older versions from a 5D or whatever, it wont perform the same... kinda sucks but its true. Also, if you are adapting EF glass like I do, dont just grab a generic adapter. Sticking with the official Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R was the right call for me and its been flawless. You should check out the Canon Refurbished store directly. I've snagged amazing deals there that look brand new and come with a full warranty. Sometimes they have bundles that include the adapter or a battery grip which saves way more than just hunting for the lowest body-only price. Ngl, the hidden costs of upgrading used to catch me off guard all the time. If you can find a refurbished kit with a lens, that is usually the sweet spot for value.

Basically everyone here has touched on the main ways to save - like tracking price drops on Amazon, checking used stock at KEH, or weighing the R5 as an alternative. It is a solid spread of options for the body itself. But tbh, before you jump on a deal, what kind of glass are you planning to run? Are you adapting EF lenses or going native RF? From a technical standpoint, the deal price is only part of the equation. If you are adapting older glass, you have to factor in the cost of the EF-EOS R adapter and potential AF performance differences on third-party glass. Also, what is your current battery and media card situation? If you are coming from an older DSLR, those UHS-I cards and legacy LP-E6 batteries will definitely bottleneck the R6 Mark II. To get the full 40fps and high-bitrate video, you really need UHS-II V60 or V90 cards and the newer LP-E6NH batteries. Make sure you check if your existing gear is actually compatible with the R6II specs before you pull the trigger on a deal!!!

Re: "Just catching up on this thread and @Reply #9..."

  • I was in the same boat a few months back. Honestly, Ive been shooting for years but finding a good price still feels like a sport. I finally got my Canon EOS R6 Mark II Body by using their loyalty program over the phone. I had an old Canon EOS 60D with a busted shutter, and they gave me a solid discount just for having the serial number. It was way easier than waiting for a holiday sale. A few things that made it a win for me:
  • Used my old broken gear for a 20 percent discount
  • Picked up a Lexar Professional 2000x 128GB SDXC UHS-II for the dual slots
  • Got a full factory warranty which gave me peace of mind Really happy with the setup now. It works well and I havent had a single issue with the body since it arrived. If you have an old Canon body gathering dust, give them a call... it might be the best deal youll find tho.

Unfortunately, my R6 Mark II from Greentoe had issues. Not as good as expected. Consider KEH; I've had better luck with their used gear. Check prices, I got mine there for $2300.

Forget chasing R6 Mark II sales! For $2500, consider a used Canon EOS R5 instead. Higher resolution, better autofocus, and you'll barely notice the difference in low light. Plus, amazing image quality for automotive photography! I snagged mine (mint condition) last year and haven't looked back. Seriously, think about it!

Before you buy new, check out KEH Camera. Used R6 Mark II bodies in excellent condition are often $2200 or less. Leaves you budget for lenses!

Hey! Buying online can be tricky, especially with electronics. I'd avoid anything *too* good to be true! Check seller reviews super carefully – like REALLY carefully – before handing over your $2500. You want a legit warranty, right? Maybe stick with known retailers like B&H? Better safe than sorry, especially with that much cash!
