What is the most reliable L-mount to M-mount adapter for Leica glass?

I recently picked up a Lumix S5II and I'm dying to adapt my Leica M-mount glass to it. I’ve seen everything from $20 generic adapters to the official $450 Leica version, and I'm a bit torn. My main concerns are achieving precise infinity focus and ensuring there's zero play or wobble in the mount, especially since some of my lenses are older and heavier. Does the official Leica M-Adapter-L really offer a significant advantage with 6-bit coding support for L-mount bodies, or is a brand like Novoflex just as reliable for daily use? Which adapter have you found provides the most secure fit without breaking the bank?

In my experience, grab the TTArtisan M to L Mount Adapter. It's only $35, built like a tank, and hits infinity perfectly with no wobble at all. Seriously amazing value!!

For your situation, I suggest comparing these two: 1. Novoflex Adapter for Leica M Lens to L-Mount Body - Its the gold standard for precision. Perfect infinity focus and *zero* wobble.
2. Haoge Manual Lens Mount Adapter for Leica M Lens to L-mount - Best budget pick. Seriously solid build for the price. Honestly, unless you need EXIF data from that 6-bit coding, the Leica version is way overkill. Save the cash for more glass! gl!

Totally agree with the above! +1 for the TTArtisan. Also wanted to add that I've been using the Urth M to L Mount Lens Mount Adapter for about $45 and it's super solid with no wobble. tbh, the $450 Leica M-Adapter-L is kinda overkill since the S5II lets you manually input lens info for IBIS. You're basically paying $400 for EXIF data... definitely not worth it imo!!

In my experience, I was ngl terrified of my heavy glass falling off when I first started adapting. I've been a photographer for years, but the S5II's still kinda new to me! I eventually just went with Voigtlander and it works well. Basically, you can't go wrong with them if you want security and perfect infinity focus. Safety first, right? Satisfied with how rock solid it feels.
