What are the must-have accessories for the Sony a7R V?

So I finally pulled the trigger on the a7R V after shooting with the R III for like five years and man I thought I was ready but this thing is a whole different beast. I just moved out to the PNW specifically for the landscape opportunities here and Im planning to spend the next few months hitting the coast and the Columbia River Gorge but honestly the file sizes and the sheer resolution are making me rethink my entire workflow. I was thinking my old V60 cards would be fine for just stills because my logic was that I dont really do video so I could skip the CFexpress Type A cards since theyre so expensive but now Im staring at the buffer light more than the viewfinder when I do bracketed shots for HDR and its getting really annoying.

Then there is the stability issue. I realized my old travel tripod just isnt cutting it anymore with the 61MP sensor because you can literally see the wind vibrating the legs in the files if I go over 1/10th of a second even with the IBIS doing its thing. Its like the camera is too good for my current gear if that makes sense? I have about $1200 left in my budget for the rest of the year to get this kit fully dialed in before a big trip to Olympic National Park in November.

I am also debating the screen protector situation because that new multi-tilt screen feels a bit more exposed than the old ones and I am terrified of catching it on a branch. I was looking at some of the SmallRig cages too but I dont want to add too much bulk if I dont have to. What are you guys actually using day to day that makes a difference with this specific body? Like are the CFexpress cards actually worth the jump for landscape work or should I just buy more V90 SDs? And has anyone found a specific L-bracket that doesnt block the screen movement because that hinge looks complicated to work around...

You absolutely need the SmallRig Foldable L-Shape Mount Plate for Sony a7R V! It is amazing for keeping your gear safe while maintaining full screen articulation. Truly a fantastic, reliable choice for those PNW landscapes!

^ This. Also, check out ProGrade Digital CFexpress Type A 160GB Gold cards! Theyre amazing value and the 1700MB/s read speed blows V90s away for those massive RAW files. For stability, Leofoto LS-324C Ranger Series Tripod is a fantastic budget-friendly beast with a 33lb load capacity. It handles wind way better than thin travel legs and definitely grab the Sony PCK-LG3 Screen Protector for cheap peace of mind!

Man, that 61MP sensor is a total double-edged sword. I remember being out at Cape Disappointment last winter and realizing half my long exposures were soft because my old travel legs were basically acting like a tuning fork in the wind. You might want to be careful with just getting V90 cards... even they struggle with those massive uncompressed RAW files when you are bracketing for HDR. I would suggest looking at the Sony CEA-G160T 160GB CFexpress Type A or the Lexar Professional CFexpress Type A Gold Series 320GB. The buffer clear time is night and day compared to SD, which is huge for landscapes. For the L-bracket, make sure to get the SmallRig Foldable L-Bracket for Sony A7R V because it is specifically designed to clear that complex hinge without blocking the screen. It is worth the investment so you arent fighting your gear in the rain.
